Discover the perfect last-minute gifts for your friends who are new homeowners, that marry convenience and efficiency.
As a disabled, neurodivergent, busy wife, mom, and business owner, I'm always looking for products to make my life easier.
My 2023 gift guide highlights practical solutions I use in my home, designed to simplify life and save time while arriving just in time for Christmas Day.
Robot Vaccum: I save time and energy with a robot vacuum. I set it to run daily on a schedule to quickly clean up dog hair and dust, keeping my home tidy and allergies in check.
Alexa Device: having Alexa devices sprinkled throughout my home allows me to easily remember tasks and remind my kids of things without having to nag them. I set a timer to go off 30 minutes before that daily robot vacuum schedule above, to remind me to pick up dog toys and backpacks quickly.
Digital Egg Cooker: I first thought this was a silly buy, but it saves me so much time and effort. I can never remember how long to boil eggs for hard or soft and my kids like to have hard-boiled eggs throughout the week to snack on or make egg salad sandwiches. I don't have to google directions (again), wait for boiling water, or remember to set a timer. I just pour water in, set it, and let it go.
Outdoor Smart Plug & Patio String Lights: This is a "lazy hack" I use for looking festive in December with zero effort. I keep a string of large bulb outdoor patio string lights hung on my front porch, attached to this plug year-round. In spring, summer, or fall I pop them on with the button for ambiance welcoming guests to a party. In December, they become my Christmas lights! The bulbs are more hardy than Christmas lights and in December I set up the timer for the plug to go on and off overnight.
Large Lazy Susan: Possibly my easiest "lazy hack", this saves my spicy family from the hangries by keeping easy snacks, electrolytes, and breakfast options at arms reach on the kitchen island. It's not the prettiest kitchen addition, but the most practical. Our favorites are granola bars, instant oatmeal with added protein & fiber, and these electrolytes (which my picky kid with dysautonomia will drink without complaint).
Finance For The People: It's essential for any homeowner, new or otherwise, to get a grip on their finances. This is my favorite book on finances as it features approachable, accessible, and mindful tips and ideas, not always found in other books.
